What we do
Site work, septic, and seasonal services across Deschutes County and central Oregon.
Septic systems
Installation, repair, and diagnostics for on-site septic systems. SurfaceTek holds Oregon DEQ Sewage Disposal Service License #39968.
Before we quote a replacement, we find out whether you need one. County records for older systems are frequently incomplete or wrong, and a tank that's been condemned on paper is sometimes fine in the ground. Exploratory work and scoping cost a fraction of a new drainfield, and they occasionally save you the whole expense.
Site preparation
Turning a raw lot into something a crew can start on. Clearing, stripping topsoil, and bringing the site to rough grade — setting the elevations everything above ground will reference.
On high desert lots the surprises are usually rock and pumice. Both change the number, and both are worth finding at the estimate stage rather than mid-job.
Excavation
Foundation and footing excavation cut to line and grade, plus trenching for utilities, water, and power.
Frost depth and setback requirements vary by jurisdiction out here. We work to the plan and to the inspector, not to a rule of thumb.
Grading & drainage
Finish grading that moves water away from structures and holds its slope after the first wet season.
Central Oregon runoff has nowhere to go once the ground freezes. Where water ends up is a design decision, and it's the one most often skipped.
Driveways & access roads
Base rock, compaction, and crown built to survive freeze-thaw rather than to look good the week it was placed.
A driveway that drains and a driveway that doesn't cost roughly the same to build. Only one of them is still there in five years.
Demolition
Structure and slab demolition, debris removal, and site cleanup — leaving ground that's ready for whatever comes next.
Demo is straightforward until you hit something that wasn't on the plans: buried tanks, old foundations, utilities nobody capped. Thirty years of pit and reclamation work is largely an education in what's under things.
Land clearing
Tree and brush removal, stump grinding, and defensible-space work around structures.
Wildfire clearance requirements around here are worth handling deliberately rather than in a hurry the week before an inspection.
Snow removal
Seasonal plowing for driveways and private roads across the La Pine and Sunriver area.
Seasonal clients are scheduled ahead of time and cleared on a route. Booking for the coming winter is open now.
Small general contracting
Shop pads, outbuildings, and the coordination that gets a small project from bare dirt to finished.
For projects that need more than one trade but don't need a full GC, we can carry the whole thing.
Most people call before they know the full scope.
That's normal. Describe what you're trying to build — or what's gone wrong — and we'll tell you what it involves, including the parts that aren't obvious from the plans.
